A global consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Director or Partner to join its CIO Advisory practice. The role focuses on shaping and leading high-impact technology transformation agendas for major private and public-sector organisations across Germany and Europe.
This senior leader will collaborate directly with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Digital Officers, and Board-level stakeholders, guiding them through complex journeys in cloud transformation, digital strategy, IT operating model redesign, enterprise architecture, AI adoption, and technology modernisation.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Advisory & Thought Leadership
Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs and senior technology leaders on strategic technology issues.
Lead discussions around cloud strategy, digital transformation, data platforms, AI, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture evolution.
Shape multi-year transformation roadmaps aligning technology decisions with business strategy.
Represent the consultancy in the market through speaking engagements, publications, and sector thought leadership.
Cloud Transformation & Technology Strategy
Drive cloud transformation programmes covering strategy, migration, architecture, governance, FinOps, security, and operating model design.
Support clients in assessing cloud readiness, selecting cloud providers, and developing target-state technology architectures.
Define modern IT operating models, including agile delivery, DevOps, platform engineering, and product-centric organisations.
Client Relationship Ownership
Build, own, and expand senior client relationships at CIO and board level.
Act as the executive sponsor for major programmes, ensuring delivery excellence and risk management.
Collaborate with global teams to bring cutting-edge capabilities, accelerators, and industry insights to clients.
Commercial Leadership & Practice Growth
Lead business development for large-scale advisory and transformation opportunities.
Shape proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and oversee multi-year account plans.
Contribute to the growth of the CIO Advisory practice through capability development, strategic hiring, and internal innovation.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of technology strategists, cloud architects, consultants, and analysts.
Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching to emerging leaders and ensure strong succession planning across the practice.
Required Experience & Qualifications
12+ years of experience in management consulting, technology advisory, or CIO/CTO-level roles.
Proven experience leading cloud transformation or major technology modernisation programmes.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), modern IT architectures, AI/ML foundations, cybersecurity, and digital delivery models.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic decisions.
Fluent German and English (business proficiency).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous P&L ownership or senior account leadership responsibility.
Experience helping clients adopt generative AI, automation, and advanced data analytics technologies.
Strong network within the German CIO and technology leadership community.
Experience with regulated industries (financial services, energy, public sector, healthcare) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Relationship Management
Act as the senior point of contact for all aspects of the client relationship across Germany and global regions.

Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in consulting or technology advisory, with a proven track record in large-scale SAP transformation programs.
Demonstrated success in leading complex global accounts or major client portfolios.
Strong understanding of S/4HANA transformation journeys, change management, and industry-specific SAP capabilities.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex political environments.
Native-level German and fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with multinational corporations with complex operating footprints.
Prior P&L ownership or account leadership experience in a Big Four or Tier-1 consultancy.
Understanding of adjacent transformation areas (cloud ERP, data & analytics, process automation, ESG integration).
