SAP Business Functional Consultant – Manufacturing
Location: Remote Time zone coverage: LATAM business hours Duration: ASAP start – engagement running May to July 2027 Languages required: Fluent English and Portuguese
About the role We are looking for an experienced SAP Business Functional Consultant to support a global ERP release programme, with a focus on Manufacturing. This is a business-facing functional role rather than a technical or IT one: you will act as the functional point of contact for Manufacturing data and processes, advising the programme on data readiness, guiding migration decisions, and ensuring the business outcome is fit for purpose. You will work as part of the Service Provider's team, with coverage aligned to LATAM time zones for the respective release. Key responsibilities As the functional consultant for Manufacturing scope, you will:
Provide functional expertise on SAP Manufacturing processes and data objects throughout the release
Own data readiness for in-scope objects, including oversight of cleansing and quality verification
Define and validate value mappings between legacy and target systems
Establish and maintain master lists and reference data standards
Review and approve upload files before and after load, acting as the functional sign-off
Guide and support manual data loads into target clients, ensuring functional correctness
Advise on dual maintenance approach during cutover and stabilisation
Design, execute and approve data verification scripts to confirm the migration meets business requirements
Act as a liaison between the business, the migration team and the wider programme
Required experience and capabilities The Service Provider must staff this engagement with personnel who collectively bring:
Strong SAP functional and business process expertise in Manufacturing (mandatory)
Proven experience on ERP project implementations in a functional or business consulting capacity
Hands-on business-side data migration experience (not IT-led migration)
Confidence engaging stakeholders and providing functional guidance and sign-off
Fluency in English and Portuguese
Availability to work within LATAM time zones for the duration of the release
